The Caribbean is an excellent holiday destination all year round, although some hotels close during September and October (see hotel details for exact closing dates). The temperature remains fairly constant at between 75 - 85 degrees fahrenheit, winter and summer, with a high level of humidity.
The most popular time to travel is from the middle of December until the middle of May, allowing visitors to take advantage of the pleasant temperatures and dry conditions. The average amount of sun ranges from 6 to 8 hours a day, while the prevailing wind is the northeasterly tradewind.
The summer months are generally the wettest, with brief yet intense showers occuring from July to November. Some of the islands can be in the path of tropical storms, with hurricanes a possibility particularly for the northern islands.
